ENTERTAINMENT
Over the past decade flat screen televisions have become the norm in the family home. So much so they have redefined the design of the modern living room. As the screen sizes have increased, more people have mounted them on walls to achieve that clean uncluttered look. A great way to achieve this look is to recess the screen into the wall so the glass sits flush and does not protrude.

We all know that the big screen TV is just the start of the entertainment journey. There is a myriad of other components that need to be catered for - amplifier, DVD/Blu-ray player, gaming console, pay TV set top box and speakers, just to name a few. I can help you seamlessly integrate or hide these components in your purpose built wall.

Most people have their entertainment components on display, which is convenient when using them but can be unsightly. All of the different shapes, sizes and colours including the associated cabling can look very messy, very quickly. If you are installing your screen above a heater you can use the space created by the chimney breast to create a hidden nook to keep all of your components and cabling out of sight. Alternatively if you like to display all of your equipment you can use the void in the cavity wall to hide the cabling.

Speakers are another component that can benefit from being built-in, not only aesthetically but also functionally. You can recreate the effect of a speaker box by installing your soundbar or subwoofer directly into the wall. The speaker will use the airspace in the cavity to resonate the sound waves resulting in a much fuller sound.

Depending on your budget and decor you can greatly enhance the look of your installation to make it a feature of the room. See the Fireplaces and Feature Walls pages for more information and ideas.
